Christine Pellegrino will:
Christine will make sure our schools get their fair share of funding and our schools have every opportunity to succeed. She will fight for local control of our schools and against the over reliance on flawed and developmentally inappropriate standardized tests.
Christine is committed to protect our environment, our health, and our property values by cleaning up toxic spills that threaten to poison our drinking water with cancer-causing chemicals. She will fight to stop any efforts to drill for oil off the shores of Long Island.
Christine will make sure our first responders have the tools they need to fight the opioid epidemic and that our loved ones can get the treatment they need for a full recovery from addiction.
Christine will fight to make sure that our community is prepared for the threat of another natural disaster and that victims of Superstorm Sandy finally get the relief and assistance they need from New York State. She will protect homeowners from crooked contractors who seek to exploit families whose homes have been damaged.
Christine Pellegrino is a dedicated public servant who can be trusted to serve our community with honesty and integrity. Long Island has seen too much abuse from corrupt politicians who are ripping off the system to line their pockets with our tax dollars. Christine will stand firmly against political corruption regardless of political party.
Christine stands for gun safety and stopping violent criminals, terrorists, and domestic abusers from easy access to powerful assault weapons that can and have killed children, teachers, and community members in a matter of minutes. Christine is proud to have received the distinction of Moms Demand Action and Every Town for Gun Safety in her prior campaigns and will continue to make reducing the threat of gun violence a top priority.
We need to keep Long Island moving in order to create jobs, grow our economy, and attract small business and development. That means making sure that the LIRR runs on time and that we have good service. It also means making sure that we fix our roads and invest in infrastructure to reduce traffic and wait times.
No one should have to forgo the care they need because its too expensive. Christine believes that we need a healthcare system that will give equal access to everyone so we can all be safe and well. Christine supports the NYHA, which will make healthcare affordable and accessible to all.
